Radiolaria of the families Haplotaeniatumidae Won, Blodgett, and Nestor, 2002 and Inaniguttidae Nazarov and Ormiston, 1984 were recovered from the Llandovery and lower Wenlock of the Cape Phillips Formation on Cornwallis Island, Nunavut, Canada. Three new species of haplotaeniatumids are described. Haplotaeniatum fissura n. sp. is diagnosed by a densely constructed outer layer around a less dense interior; Haplotaeniatum nunavutensis n. sp. has small, circular pores separated by wide lattice bars; and Orbiculopylorum granti n. sp. possesses robust external spines. Haplotaeniatumids described in open nomenclature are Haplotaeniatum labyrintheum?, Haplotaeniatum aff. cathenatum, Haplotaeniatum cf. raneatela, Haplotaeniatum species A, Orbiculopylorum aff. adobensis, Orbiculopylorum cf. marginatum and Orbiculopylorum species A. Gyrosphaera Noble and Maletz, 2000 is synonymized with Haplotaeniatum. The Inaniguttidae are assigned to Plussatispila n. gen. The genus is diagnosed by two, well-spaced lattice shells and at least seven main spines; additional shells may be present. Plussatispila magnilimax n. sp. has a total of four shells, and P. cornwallisensis n. sp. a total of three. Plussatispila delicata n. sp. has only the two fundamental shells of the genus and is slightly more delicate than the other inaniguttids. Plussatispila pellicia n. sp. possesses weakly developed spines and may have additional irregular layers.

Diverse silicified trilobite faunas from the lower Wenlock to lower Ludlow of the Cape Phillips Formation, central Canadian Arctic, have been the subject of works by Perry and Chatterton (1977), Chatterton and Perry (1979), Adrain (1994), and Adrain and Edgecombe (1995, and in press). The present work describes a very minor component of these faunas, the family Phacopidae, which is nevertheless of considerable biogeographic interest.

Radiolaria extracted from two bedded-limestone and two limestone-concretion samples from the upper Llandovery of the Cape Phillips Formation, Cornwallis Island, allow the distinction between the spicular haplentactinid subfamily Secuicollactinae and the nonspicular Rotasphaeridae. This restores Secuicollactinae and returns Secuicollacta to the subfamily from the Rotasphaeridae. Secuicollactinae represent 36 percent of the fauna and are assigned to three genera, Secuicollacta, Diparvapila new genus, and Parvalanapila new genus; these form 27, five, and three percent of the fauna, respectively. The remaining one percent of the subfamily is unassigned. Rotasphaeridae form four percent of the fauna and are represented by Rotasphaera. Secuicollacta is diagnosed on the basis of the presence of an ectopic spicule in addition to several rotasphaeridlike primary units. The salient characters of Diparvapila include two lattice shells with an ectopic spicule on the medullary shell. Parvalanapila is diagnosed on the basis of a lattice sphere overlain by a labyrinthine layer and an ectopic spicule on the lattice sphere. New species described here are Secuicollacta malevola, S. sceptri, S. gliris, S. herrimani, S. segari, S. vallipuellae, S. resodiosae, S. glaebosa, S. teli, Diparvapila hicocki, D. saintrochae, D. larseni, Parvalanapila fleischerorum, and Rotasphaera severa. Four species of Secuicollacta are reported in open nomenclature, as are two of Diparvapila and two of Rotasphaera.

Spicular radiolarians of the family Palaeoscenidiidae were recovered from the Llandovery to lower Wenlock of the Cape Phillips Formation, Nunavut, Canada. Several changes are made to the classification of these radiolarians. Goodbodium rarispinosum (Goodbody, 1986) was previously placed with Palaeoscenidium Deflandre, 1953. Insolitignum MacDonald, 1999 is emended to allow for additional apical rays. Insolitignum cancellatum (Goodbody, 1986) includes species which were previously assigned to Palaeoscenidium, Palaeotripus Goodbody, 1986, and Palaeoephippium Goodbody, 1986, owing to the variable development of one ray. Insolitignum peranima MacDonald, 1999 is synonymized with I. dissimile (Goodbody, 1986). Palaeodecaradium apertum (Goodbody, 1986) was previously placed with Palaeoscenidium; Palaeotripus nudus Goodbody, 1986 is considered a synonym of P. apertum. Palaeoephippium is rediagnosed based on the branching of the basal rays; the new diagnosis also allows for more than six rays and in orientations other than originally diagnosed. Palaeoephippium aranea Goodbody, 1986 is a junior synonym of P. bifurcum Goodbody, 1986. Palaeoephippium reteforme Goodbody, 1986 and P. ramipendentes Goodbody, 1986 are synonymized with P. radices Goodbody, 1986. Palaeotripus monospinosum Goodbody, 1986 is synonymized with Palaeoephippium spinosum Goodbody, 1986. One new species, Palaeodecaradium gordoni, is described. It possesses six rays; the apical rays are long and curved. The basal rays bear spinules on their lateral margins.
